Hi Warriors,
As the developer of Wartune and victim of this commercial dispute, 7Road is very sorry for the serious trouble brought to you by shutdown of Wartune server lately. We spared no effort to find a solution in timely manner, trying out best not to cause any further unnecessary damages.
We did not intend to disturb you again by making another announcement before a solution will be found, but we are forced to do so by the fact that: from the moment of server shutdown till now, GameHollywood (the original game publisher; per the publishing contract, their publishing right expired in Mar. 2019) has made untrue statements on the Internet repeatedly. They not only maliciously discredited 7Road as a long-term business partner, but created fear and panic among loyal players of Wartune like yourselves using pure lies as well. 7Road does not have choice but stands out again to honestly explain the whole progress of this incident in order to address your concerns, protect your benefit, and fight for justice.
7Road is the developer and creator of Wartune, and the only legitimate owner of its intellectual property; Game Hollywood lost publishing right over a year ago,and their current game operation is illegal. Aseverybody knows, Game Hollywood was granted the right by 7Road to do commercial operation of Wartune in some channels since 2012. Before the contract expiration, which is in Mar. 2019, Game Hollywood started to behave strangely. Firstly, they stopped paying revenue share to us since Jan. 2019 till now; secondly, they refused to renew contract; lastly, they refused to terminate the partnership or return publishing right back to us. In spite of all this, we have never decided to terminate game service, but constantly trying to communicate with Game Hollywood to find a solution; in the meantime, we continued providing game updates and new features, out of love of our course and duty to ensure your consistent and excellent gaming experience. But our endeavors failed to have met positive response from Game Hollywood, who "hijacks" players to oppress game developer. Their shameless behavior made us realize that 7Road was not the only one who had been suffering, but all of you, the loyal players of Wartune, were taken advantage of and your interest and experience are in danger. To be prepared for Game Hollywood to take extreme actions, we set up new home page to host Wartune at 7.wan.com. But still, we were taken by surprise: when we still tried to resolve the dispute through negotiation, Game Hollywood shut down Wartune game server without prior notice, tried their best to prevent us from telling the truth to player community, and obviously players best interests is not at their heart. If they say what 7Road has done is a"well-planned conspiracy", we wanted to say the "conspiracy" was too late and not in time, such that YOUR experience and interests in the world of Wartune have been damaged.
The mini-clientof Wartune was developed to ensure that players can still play the game smoothly after Facebook and other browsers will not support Flash anymore. The mini-client is legitimate product without any Trojan issue. In their recent announcement, Game Hollywood claimed that the mini-client developed by 7Road for Wartune had Trojan, which would steal user information, such that it would severely threaten users' privacy and property security. We can say responsibly that's total nonsense, and just an excuse for them to shutdown the game server. The mini-client was not newly updated to the game secretly at the beginning of Oct., but stably operated for couple of months. It's never been reported about any Trojan issue. As far as the users' information is concerned, what the mini-client has been doing in terms of usage of payment information is purely legal and necessary. It's never recorded users' payment information arbitrarily. Our standard of recording and using such information has never been less strict than that of similar applications. Players don't have to be worried, since 7Road has always put players' privacy, security and experience at first. We will file a lawsuit against Game Hollywood for their malicious slander to seek justice from court and understanding from our community. We would like to warn you here: your account information is stored with an illegal game operator who has lost operation right but is still trying to take advantage of the huge amount of user information, which could bea real time-bomb.
7Road is determined to terminate the partnership resolutely, take back publishing right, and request all the due payment and other loss paid back to us. The chance that Game Hollywood would relaunch Wartune in two weeks is zero. As the developer of the game, 7Road has stubbornly observed the spirit of knight, which is honesty and compassion, in the virtual world of game and in reality of partnership. To our disappointment, Game Hollywood, our onetime partner, crossed the line (we don't know from when and for what reason). What they have been doing is without one-ounce of justice, totally groundless, non-legal, unreasonable, and does not make sense at all. They misled players, and attempted to continue receiving illegal revenue. 7Road could not tolerate such nonsense any more, but to use law to protect our legal right and dignity. We don't quite understand how Game Hollywood could be so ridiculous to have promised to resume Wartune operation two weeks later (unless they will take big risk to hack our server to steal our code). Or at least, players can see how far they can go in terms of being irresponsible.
7Road will spare no effort to protect players' rights and interests, and ensure your gaming experience close to perfect. Needlessly to say, Wartune is cornerstone to 7Road, and we are so grateful for Wartune players. Many developers here in 7Road have spent 8 years in developing and updating Wartune with their youth and sweat. Although we have never met in person, we always want to satisfy your needs. We don't know why Game Hollywood said 7Road didn't love Wartune. How come the creator of the game didn't love the game, but the fake operator? Although Game Hollywood has brought much trouble to both players and 7Road out of selfish ambition, 7Road will not give up our responsibility to safeguard our common "homeland". Now that they don't want to take good care of you, we will. In fact, ever since the incident, we have been working really hard to provide you with more reliable, secure, andstable gaming experience. What you have to do is: 1) register at 7Road platform (7.wan.com) 2) provide your original account information to our customer service team. It might take some time (within 48 hours) for us to do verification. After your account information will be verified, you can continue enjoying your new journey in Wartune. In the future, we will focus on developing new game versions, maintaining platform stability, and making sure your gaming experience be not interfered by anything outside of gaming. Let business be with business, game with game.
